(MALAKA, UNS) – Sector One Command of the SPLA in the Upper Nile has exclusively told the National Courier that it has overrun rebel positions in Malakal, the state capital.
The SPLA captured the town this morning with little resistance. This comes after the main rebel force was crashed in Pelbeer while trying to flank the SPLA on Saturday.
In Doleib according to Military sources, the SPLA while trying to attack the rebel positions stumbled across a fierce internal battle amongst the rebels. The forces of Gabriel Tanginya were fighting those of Johnson Olony when SPLA attacked both of them. The rebels were fighting over amphibious tanks and other military equipment before the SPLA attack forced them to cross the Sobat in disarray southwards. ♦
